Is it too much these days? I know they are doing super work these days but I've never seen a deer with this much musculature in it's face and neck. Not complaining but just curious what ya'll think.

Gents, that is an excellent representation of what a Clorox stump will do.

Looks like someone mounted a kangaroo and stuck antlers on its head.

Too much. Shame too because the mount is superb otherwise.

15-20 years ago, I was hunting less than a mile north of the Dolly Parton Bridge on I-65 and saw the biggest deer I’ve ever seen in the woods. It was a four point that looked similar to that photo. Heavy horns, really big musculature and darker colored than a normal buck. Never saw another one like it in that area. Club rules would have had me paying a fine if I had shot it.

I have discussed this with others lately. It looks terrible. I’ve seen folks post pics of their deer and posting how great it looked, and I normally don’t comment. There’s not a deer in history with defined muscle definition through a thick coat of fur. Swelled necks? Yes. But jacked like they’re on steroids? No. It don’t look natural.

It doesn't look natural to me but maybe whoever killed it wanted it that way. 🤷
