We were there last month. Water was muddy on the main river and it came down about three feet while we were there. Fishing was tough. 16 lbs won and 12 lbs got you in the top 5 out of 60 boats. Tons of floaters on the river. If you have multiple map cards, bring them. In some places the Hummingbird map was best, in other places the Lowrance was best. Water temps ranged from 65-72. Stayed in a tiny cabin at Roland Cooper and it was nice. Not much to do in Camden, AL.

Check with Shane Jones, he's taken over Big Daddy Lawler's fishing report for that area. He has a FB page as well. He's mainly a crappie guy but covers all species in the Black Belt Fishing Report videos and Podcast.

I'd go to swift creek instead of the miller's ferry stretch
We will burn that bridge when we get there

I'm hoping to ease up to camp soon and do some fishing myself. Father n law caught nice mess of crappie, over the weekend, they're making their way in the sloughs.
Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!
