Uncle Mike’s with the Velcro strap seems to be the holster of choice for the open carry crowd

I like my cheap Fobus holster I know everyone complains about they can't get the gun out but I just use my thumb to assist and I don't have any problems. I've tripped over crap jumped off trailers and equipment and done everything but hand-to-hand combat and the gun has never come loose. Not the best but I'd get another one

If you are gonna OC you need a retention holster so some asshole can't walk up behind you and grab your gun

You might wanna consider a dedicated gun belt with internal reinforcement while you’re at it. A G21 in a clip on holster is gonna carry like a cinder block and put a lot of strain on the belt. Your typical 1.5” leather strap won’t handle it very long before rolling over to the weight. I went thru the same issues with a G20 years ago and ended up settling with a shoulder harness rig.

the belt i have will carry it what its made for . at some point a 460 S&W BFR will be hanging from it hunting .

so for the alien gear holster looks the best for me but im still looking . But ,,,, i may get the one the goes on the belt since i can just detach the gun from the part on the belt .

I've got a serpa somewhere that just had a paddle that went down inside the waistband. Some folks love them (the Serpa holster, not the paddle part) and some hate them. Keep your finger indexed along the slide and no problem. I've seen other types that use a paddle too.

i've got one and it works pretty good. Have to be careful quick drawing and shooting. Causes alot of ND. Alot of PD's have banned them for that very reason

Leave the plastic/kydex alone that scratches up your pistol and it will break.kydex does and will at some point

Buy leather.its fool proof along with the metal clips that come with leather iwb holsters or belt holsters with nothing to break.

Just depends if you want it to work or you want to buy something that looks cool with very limited functional value.that will break like a cell phone plastic holder in short time

1791 makes great leather belt holsters that don't cost much.love your slide clip holster analogy. 🤣 Lol
Kydex is crap

I don't like toys and leather looks better anyways.old school function without plastic cracking and breaking like it always does in time even the so called best kydex is fancy plastic.
Kydex isn't exactly a glock frame
Try breaking and cracking a decent leather holster and knocking pistol off of yourself.

I have a safariland like the one above with a thumb release for my G17 that I like.
I have the mag holder too.
I only wear it around the house or when I go shoot though.

Try this Frankie
I saw 40+ holsters for the G21 and Beretta. I wasn’t sure what colt 1911 you had.
Gotta decide whether you want a belt, paddle, small paddle etc.
I believe most of the paddle holsters can do belt too.
They have a LOT of choices, almost too many…

Check out 6378 ALS and 7378 7TS ALS for your Glock 21.
The thumb release is very natural “to me” more so than the pointer finger release.
