One of those in the northstar crew will get deep In your pocket. The new ranger XD northstar is also pricey. Also, a jeep is not going everywhere A quality side-by-side will go.

And a fourwheeler will take you places that neither above will go.

Because a Jeep Wrangler can actually go on the road in addition to doing most of the stuff that a side by side will do, and you can get one just as cheap, and the Jeep resale value is higher, and the Jeep is quieter, has a better top and usually has heat and a/c and has more power for pulling stumps, dragging objects, etc...

Tell me you’ve never owned a side by side without telling me you’ve never owned a side by side😉

I’ve owned two SXS and agree with Irish 100%. I’ll never own another one unless it was mostly for farm use. If that’s the case, I’d just go buy one like Tractor Supply, or one of the other big box stores sells.

Jeeps are a horrible ride for the most part, no body to put stuff in and bigger.

I like my polaris ranger ok. Light enough to not rut stuff up bad and small enough to get around on 4 wheeler trails. Some of the new side by sides are so big I'd rather have a truck. With all that being said after using the mule pros at a high fence place I'd buy one of those in a heartbeat over anything else and I'm a big Honda fan. Rode in a new pioneer last year that was over 50,000 with all the bells and whistles. I'm way to cheap for all that but it was nice

I bought a like new 2019 Ranger from kkfish last year. Been very pleased with it and haven’t had any problems. One drawback that I didn’t see mentioned is, they are very easy to roll. A lot easier than I realized. I wasn’t doing anything stupid and wasn’t going very fast when I put mine on its side. Luckily, me or my Ranger weren’t hurt. I’m still overly cautious on hilly terrain and ruts in the roads.

Not saying you did this but, most of the time this happens because people are in four-wheel-drive taking turns they should not be taking in four-wheel-drive

Get what you’re saying, but I wasn’t. I had it in 2WD easing down a wet log road. Rear end slid down a small incline and the rear tire went in a shallow rut and it was on its side before I knew it. Been 3 other guys in my lease put theirs on their sides over the past year.

Most of the people that say “my sxs will go places that no (insert whatever type of vehicle) will go…”, most of the time rarely take them in those places. How many of us have seen people pull up to the club, unload their 4 wheelers/sxs, and end up parking them on the side of a dirt road where they are signed out for, where they could have just parked their truck?

I rolled mine doing a doughnut. They are top heavy.

Why no snorkel? One of the problems is water getting into the poorly designed seals of the air intake of the Polaris Ranger. Snorkel takes care of that problem. I learned that lesson the hard way after a rainstorm. Also go through belts quick if you run them fast in high gear. Every mechanic has told me to keep them in low gear 10-15 mph if you want to preserve your belt. If I were to buy a new one it would be Kawasaki or Honda. What’s the point of having a side by side if you have to go slow in low gear. rofl

So what? The side by side will still go places a hell of a lot easier that a jeep or short wheel base truck won’t when needed. Plus, how many people here drive 1.5hrs+ to get to their camp? Most people don’t want to fool with taking a worn out Jeep or truck that far driving/on a trailer/ or leaving it there only for it to not start when you get there…Heck of a lot easier to trailer a side by side

Edit to add: You don’t HAVE to buy a $20k+ side by side either, plenty of new ones sub $15k or even less on the used side.

2012 Polaris ranger doing fine. I need to replace the rack and pinion and front CV axles but for a 12yo machine it’s doing just fine. Bought from an ALdeer member in 2015 I believe.

They turn over in the mountains up here all the time , in 2wd , 4wd and any other wd. The smaller and more nimble , the more their wheels are on top. If I can't get one of my Toyotas there , I can get close enough to walk.

Thank you.

My point has been made.

i wish I had Aldeer money so I didn't have to have a gay Jeep Rubicon and I could have a badass side by side.

Wait... So a SxS has a bigger cargo area than an old Jeep?

My buddy has a SxS and you couldn't fit a mother in law in the back of that thing.
