I’ve got an ‘18 Polaris 900XP EPS (power steering) and it’s been great for me on the hunting property where it’s been used but not abused.

Yamaha Wolverine 850

Yamaha RMAX1000

I have both. Love both. RMAX may be better for the rough rocky trails. More suspension and travel. Wolverine better in the woods and quieter

I’ve been around the Honda Pioneer. I’ve seen them have the dog shucks beat out of them and keep going

If you want smooth, like real smooth riding then rzrs or something like that. Pure trail

That said, I also have a PRO XP 4 seater. The back seats have plenty of room and fold down. You can get some use out of that. But unless your climbing boulders, your better off with a truck!

I bought a new Ranger 1000 last year and I love it. You take care of ot and it will last. I do the oil and other maintenance myself and there's nothing to it. Ride quality and power is very good. I just wish they came with a fraking roof and windshield from the factory. For what they cost that should be included

Because a Jeep Wrangler can actually go on the road in addition to doing most of the stuff that a side by side will do, and you can get one just as cheap, and the Jeep resale value is higher, and the Jeep is quieter, has a better top and usually has heat and a/c and has more power for pulling stumps, dragging objects, etc...

Jeeps ride like crap. Side by side has independent suspension and that’s the way to go.

4 Runners ride great and they wear a Toyota badge.

I rode in one at the end of deer season a guy had just bought that had power windows, a touch screen navigation thingy in the dash, heat and air conditioning……Joker smelled like a new car……It was like riding through the woods in luxury. I believe it was a Ranger.

Tell me you’ve never owned a side by side without telling me you’ve never owned a side by side😉

My dad has both, had the Wrangler first. Uses the Polaris for things he never used the Jeep for. Jeep hasn’t been cranked in a month or more. Polaris gets used daily. The two are not the same, not even close. If one had to go, it would be the Jeep without hesitation.

The best SxS is the Honda. Hands down. I have one it's built to last. I don't like Polaris engineering it's certainly not great and they are not built to last much beyond a few thousand miles. The only saving grace is they are relatively easy to fix and aftermarket parts are readily available. I have probably 6k+ miles on a Ranger I also own but I have had to maintain it... it's about all aftermarket parts now but at this point still a solid machine. Engine still runs well. I had a Can Am it was a good machine. only brand I have never owned a Kawasaki SxS I've owned plenty for their 4-wheelers. Good 3 and 4-wheelers been around that long probably make decent machines just never owned one.

Jeep you drive down the street vs. SXS. I am not sure how you seriously compare the two. There is no comparison offroad unless your Jeep is a dedicated off road deal wearing at least 40s, 1 ton axles with a V8 under the hood. The only way the Jeep is a better option is if you can't afford a $30k SxS AND a $50k Jeep. That in fact IS a real issue. And what you need to do there is sell the Jeep and buy an old Toyota pickup which all come with a free fresh set of balls to replace the pair you lost when you bought the Jeep.

No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

i have a 19 north star (heat and ac) was 32k at that time. same machine is pushing 40 now

the achilles heel of that machine is seed heads and debri clogging up the ac condenser that’s right in front of the radiator. ac quits working then the machine goes into limp mode. everyone i know that has one has the same complaint. never had that problem with the non ac model

DO NOT get a "Bad Boy Buggy".....they won't last if you take them off-road.

A guy in my club has a pioneer, but only the 500cc one. It's a little underpowered to me. He shifts it, but I think it does auto too. I'd rather have a 4 wheeler myself. Maybe one of these days I will replace my 02 Polaris Sportsman 500HO, but so far, it seems to handle everything I need it to handle.

You can get the northstar ranger way less than $50k
People start throwing around those numbers without factual info. Yes you can definitely spend that, but you don’t have to. The newest Polaris is the expedition. One of those in the northstar crew will get deep In your pocket. The new ranger XD northstar is also pricey. Also, a jeep is not going everywhere A quality side-by-side will go.
