I see some guys getting some great patterns out of Retay shotguns, 20 ga in particular. I thought I would check them out, couldn’t believe the price! $1,000 for a auto shotgun that I’ve never heard of? Why are they so expensive? Anyone here shooting one? Robinhedd

Retay are well made Turkish I think with an American designed gun. There’s a lot of features that are somewhat custom.
Inertia based like Benelli and franchi and brownelli I’ve seen some very impressive patterns from 20 gauge

You’ve never heard of a Retay?
And when was the last time you priced autoloaders?

I’ve got one that I would sell if you’re interested that has been shot 10 times for trap. Great gun just I have too many 20 gauges.. Retay Masai Mara bought last year.
Yeah new the things are going for 1300/1400 lol

Maybe the inertia system but they cured the Benelli click but so did Benelli. Benelli have a skinny bore, browning is back bored and retay is even more so back bored. I’d thought they were tri-bored though plus have the lengthened forcing cone. Relievers pressure and smooths out patterns.

Robinhedd If you havent heard of retay shotguns, you've had your head stuck in a hole for the last 5 or 6 yrs. They've been around since 2006 but really took off popularity wise around 2015.

My favorite gun. I love the 22” barrel, both of mine shoot awesome with the factory full choke and Apex #9. Don’t know if they have left, but Mike”s Outdoor here in Pensacola has them on sale for $999.00. That’s a hellava great deal. I’ve never seen them that cheap before Palmetto had them Masai Mara (top of the Retay Line) on sale for a couple weeks at $699 last year.
