I can say I’ve never shot a bird on someone else’s property
I’ve always shot from my property 😁

how is belly crawling "cheating" the one time I got on birds last year we belly crawled across a logging road in hopes of not being spotted because we were making a really aggressive move on a bird we struck up at 1230 on public land.

Also I feel like spotting them from the road is part of hunting. As long as you are not shooting them from the truck have at it if they are on your land or public land.

Pre season hunters suck - what society has come to - greedy and selfish non law abiding

Belly crawl aint cheating - takes more talent w that than to call one in

Bait - It’s hurt our turkeys and will help spread CWD in deer much quicker.

Really I think the trespassers and those shooting out of season are the bad cheaters. Baiting falls right behind those 2 and using drones after that.

Otherwise to each their own. Unless they use a crow call! 😄

I thought that was the root of all viable turkey hunters lol.
Whatever it takes, old man told me I wasn’t a turkey hunter cause I wouldn’t slip onto others.

The one that really gets me is out of season

Belly crawling ain’t cheating. Takes patience and skill to kill some of these old pasture birds. Killed a many crawling across a pasture to get in range of one. Hunting before season is over he most aggravating one to me.

Past Ol’ man Finley’s plac...

Guys killing over the limit makes my blood boil. It seems like everybody knows somebody that knows somebody that claims to kill dozens of turkeys in a season.
Like others have said belly crawling is just a part of it. If he won’t close that last little bit to get in shotgun range I’ll find a way to close it for him 😁

Why are these "cheating"?

#3 Shooting Bird off Roost - if you can get that close, you almost deserve to kill him. Good luck, though. I also shot one out of a tree one time because he got spooked by something and flew up into a small pine within range. Did I cheat?

#5 Blinds - I make a blind almost every time I sit down with some garden shears. if I carried a small pop blind, or used one with my young kid, how is that cheating?

#6 Belly Crawling - listing this as cheating makes absolutely no sense. Heck, if I hadn't belly crawled up to the edge of a ridge or knoll to kill him on the other side, I would have a lot less kills under my belt.

#7 Fanning - I get that it's illegal now (I think), but native americans used to do it. Granted, they were using bows, not guns

#10 Spotting Bird from Road - huh? So I'm riding through an area, I spot a bird from the road. I keep going. I realize I can park maybe 3/4 mile or more away and circle back on him and try to kill him. That's cheating? No comprendo, amigo.

All these are perfectly legal and I would do none of them and wouldn’t stand in anybody’s way that wanted to

Bait, trespassing, starting season early/hunting out of season, drones, electronic calling, over the limit, and shooting them with a rifle, are all cheating in my book. Shooting one off the roost is just not a sporting way of killing one.
