They make latex paint now that far surpasses any oil. And clean up is a breeze

gloss latex has not been good to me. tried different brands and it's still dull even with a good brush. The rustoleum latex seemed to do the best over the high doller box store brands. I guess if you want semi gloss then get the gloss. also had good luck with putting sheetrock compond over beatup door frames and sanding smooth and painting
