Good she was with a group. Wonder how big the knife was and where the stabbed it. Once it was pinned down they should have cut its throat. Having a pistol might of helped also. Wonder if they are all anti gun ?

Article said 2” Inch Knife. I’m not going to Lie, before I read the story, I was thinking the same thing. Liberal Anti Second Blue Hairs. But after reading the Story I still think that. But at Least they Fought & Saved there Friend. So Good for them. Maybe this will change there opinion on Firearms. "Maybe this will change there opinion on Firearms." ...and a hunting season on cougars.

The people in WA that live in the mountainous areas are some tuff folks and many are just like us Don’t let the news of big cities persuade you otherwise
When I need expert advice I tend to talk to myself The older I get the better I used to be

All the folks I have met in the Cascades and Olympic Mountains have been more like folks from Alabama than what you would expect from Washington. Good, red neck, salt of the earth people.

I'm not saying it's the case but, the elk like to walk the logging roads here and a bike on gravel makes a similar noise, I bet they get excited hearing it. I know a guy that was riding a bike that had one lunge at him but missed him due to braking. It's typical that most outdoors-man not carry a side-arm here, I know I don't. Cougars weren't introduced as mentioned and there's seasons in the PNW, pretty much year 'round here in Oregon. Why wouldn’t you carry a gun?

Different kind of cougar than I thought it would be about. The cougars I had in mind have one of those weapons that is undefeated.
Those bike gals are pretty tough. Not to be messed with by hooligans or wildlife. I wouldn't want to be on their bad side.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

In GA and AL people just carry more. Not saying guns arent handy (in the car) in the midwest or west, but I think your average guy just doesnt worry about it as much. I only know 1 guy who always carries in MO and I know a lot of people here. In GA and AL it seemed like 1/3 of my friends carried. Maybe it is cause the south is full of all you little fellers. 🤷
