What do you think? Prices sure seem more reasonable than other brands.... Have yall had good or bad experiences with Nissan's? Specifically looking at a Frontier. I generally have a low opinion of Nissan's, their cars seem to be what Mitsubishi was in the late 90's. A cheap car for folks who can't afford a big payment and the thing magically develops a head gasket problem at 80 to 100k miles. No real experience with their trucks.

I've got a 2 yo Frontier, with no problems so far. I would say that the steering geometry is a little "twitchy". Reminds me more of my '76 Bronco than the F150s I've been driving for 40 years. Other than that, tight, quiet, powerful, and so far, dependable. Ask me again in a decade.

Titan would be the truck I’d look at first. The frontier like the Tacoma is crazy high imo.

My 94 hardbody was the best vehicle I ever owned.

Ive kinda looked at and researched them a little. Seem to be solid trucks. This is the last year for the Titan. They are being discontinued due to low sales.

I lived mine and was considering another one. About to ditch this f250. I like it but I get nervous if it needs some work. 10k last year in repairs has a flinch factor. 😂

Those Titan's love some gas.

i had a 2013 Nissan Frontier 4x4 for years and it was easily the best truck I've ever had... Including a 2001 Toyota Tacoma. Matter of fact I sold the Tacoma to buy the Frontier.

If I didn't already have a 2018 Ram 1500 that I love, I would get one of the newer Frontiers. I like the way they look. It's a handsome truck.

If you're not stuck on a mid-sized truck go find a Ram 1500 Classic 4x4 with the 3.6 liter V6. Plenty of power, reliable, and good mileage too.

My only problem with going to a dodge is that everyone I've looked at doesn't have a gear shifter it's the turn dial and I absolutely hate the turn dial.

I have a 2018 frontier with 65,000 miles on it. Never a bit of trouble. I have the V6 engine. it does not get great fuel mileage...lol Around 18-19 mpg. I just changed the Transmission fluid/filter as recommended for around 50,000 miles. No problems except the smaller/shorter bed. Mine is a 4 door.

I think they ride pretty rough but that’s my opinion 🤷🏼‍♂️

I hate it too, but you get used to it, until you get in your Jeep and drive it for a few days and then you're back to "Where is the damn shifter, Oh Yeah!"

The positive side to it is I have two great place for our cell phones to hang out and lots of space in the console for stuff. So once you get used to it, it's rather nice actually having all the extra console space.

The steering is tight, like assisted steering not quite power steering. They seem plenty powerful, more responsive than the Tacoma. Ride better than the Tacoma imho I felt like I was sitting in a go kart in the Tacoma the frontier don’t feel like that to me.
I cannot speak to reliability, I get them as rentals weeks at a time for work. Now days I walk past the Tacoma to the frontier

My 95 hardbody was also one of the best I ever owned. It had over 300,000 of hard miles on it, including a lot of dirt road miles. Sold to a buddy for his son, he drove it till he wrecked it. I don't know about the newer ones; I have a Tacoma nowadays.

I bought a used Xterra to drive and write off the mileage for a project. It had pretty high mileage when I bought it and obviously even higher when I sold it. Fuel mileage wasn’t good (16?). It had 325k+ when I sold it and was still dripping condensation from the tailpipe like you’d expect from a really healthy engine. That thing actually surprised me. I’ve always had confidence in Toyota for that kind of dependability in a smaller truck. That could have been a one off experience with no hope for repeatability for all I know.

According to a good friend that works at the Canton plant, Titan is on the way out after ‘25 (if not end of year ‘24). They focusing on Frontier, due to flat sales of the Titan.

experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

Nissans are GTG. The Frontier 4x4 will need a lift. The second gen truck (after 2012) is the one to get. They lack much of the electronic crap, push button start, 9 speed tranny, etc that the new truck has. The older 4.0 was a great motor.

I'm on my 3rd personal Nissan truck and had two Xterra work trucks. Also drove a Tacoma for many years. All were great trucks.

I looked pretty hard at the new Frontiers mostly due to price and their previous reputation for being nearly bulletproof. After some cursory online research I decided I would give it a few years before I seriously considered it. The new body style has consistently ranked at or very near the least reliable vehicles being sold for the last couple years. I’d check consumer reports and others before taking the plunge.
