Today I loaded a few 308 loads with the small primer brass to try them out. I also grabbed an older box of Winchester ammo I had just to compare. The small rifle brass shot just fine but when I put the first Winchester factory load in and fired it, I noticed it was a way hotter load then my loads. When I ejected the casing I immediately noticed the primer was gone. I turned my rifle over and the primer fell out on the bench. It was very loose in the pocket and would just fall out. Well like a fool I shot another on and it was hot also but didn’t blow the primer. It did have the ring around the primer from pressure. I came back to my loading room and tried to put the case on the press to see if the case expanded but could not get it in the shell holder. The bottom of the case was jacked up also. Needless to say I’m gonna probably disassemble these and use the cases and primers for another safer load. [Linked Image][Linked Image]

Yeah I'd get rid of those or as you said recycle them

I’d contact Winchester, before I pulled them apart.

Yeah Marsh I'd call Win and see if that batch was on a recall list. Might get a free box of ammo to replace and we all love free ammo.

Skinny is my EX.Alcohol was involved.

That’s bad. Honestly never knew Winchester to load even to max, little less over pressure.

I disassembled a round and it had 42.2gr of a spherical powder in it. It wasn’t even close to the neck. Not sure what powder it is but it must be a hot burner.
