Not helping someone because they are a sinner is the exact opposite of what Christ’s entire life was an example of. I think the point is helping the persons need, not supporting their sin. If you based not helping someone because they are a sinner. Nobody would get helped. Id be willing to feed and cloth a homosexual, but Id never give money for a homosexual to marry. There is a big difference. The problem in today’s world is deceit. I see a lot of people (that honestly appear needed) but use that money for alcohol or drugs. I guess it’s a personal call. I was working a job on the side of the road one time and a homeless looking guy had a women and child on the side of the road with a sign asking for money. I approached the man and told him I take him, the women and child to a nearby Waffle House and feed them. That dude looked and me and said “get lost, I can make more money here in an hour than a waffle” Im sure a lot of people truly needing money are passed over because of this kind of deceit. I totally agree. If they were asking for money to get married I would pass I believe. Unless the Holy Spirit just impresses it on me. If I feel led to help someone, what they use the help for is on them. Obedience to the Holy Spirit is on me. Not to be argumentative but, explain to me the difference between “asking for money to get married and them already being married”, if the asking is wrong then isn’t the married wrong?

So I think the difference would be in what they were asking the money to be for. Giving money to someone to help them commit sin, and giving money to someone who is living in sin seems different to me. I got a pea brain though so I’ve been wrong before lol

If they are friends, then they are friends, right? Jesus didn't surround himself with Christians. He surrounded himself with sinners and converted them to christians. If I had the money to give, I'd give and tell them I prayed about it and felt that's what Jesus directed me to do. If I didn't have money to give, why would I concern myself with their personal situation? One thing is certain. There is zero chance they find salvation if you do nothing. If you do nothing because you judged others, that's a sin too.
Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.
