Where is a good place to have dual acting hydraulic cylinders repaired?

According to what kind of repair. Is it leaking or need packing which will replace all seals . Or maybe bent rod or cracked housing ?most heavy equipment dealers have a shop to do that . Call the dealer that sells the equipment you have first . They should steer you in right direction

All four on my bucket 30hp JD tractor are leaking. Probably from sitting out in the weather for years.

There a guy in alabaster I used Last summer. Can't remember the company name. Believe it was off kent dairy rd.

Any idea of cost?

I was able to rebuild mine myself by watching YouTube videos. There should be a number on the cylinder to match to. A rebuild kit. It was around 50 bucks a kit for the cylinders on my front end loader.

Southeastern Jack in B’ham is great

Its easy to rebuild one and a ton cheaper. Nothing too complicated if you have tools.

Kits can be bought online.

Tractor steering cylinder?

All of the cylinders for the bucket.

Oh, those are pretty easy depending on what type of tractor it is. Best part i can tell you is to break the nut loose while it is still attached to the tractor.

Oh and when you compress the cylinder after it is off the tractor it will squirt oil for a ways. Got a buddy of mine like that. Lol

Fairly easy to do, or it is to me.
See what brand and model your front end loader is, and Google that brand model seal kit.

Unhook hydraulic hoses from cylinder and plug hoses to keep oil from leaking.
I normally loosen the cylinder end cap while the cylinder is still attached to tractor/FIL.
Have bucket under cylinder end cap because hydraulic oil is going to come out.
Pull pins or bolts from cylinder end and rod end and remove entire assembly.
Pull rod out of cylinder. I use a large Vice to grip end of cylinder where pin or bolt goes through as putting cylinder wall in Vice may damage wall.

Take pictures of seals, take seals off and replace.

***Note which way the seal's walls with opening sit in the cylinder pistons and on the cylinder rod. ***


Put back together, refill tractor to correct level of hydraulic oil, operate lift, and then check oil level again and add oil to tractor.
