When you’re pruning take off 8-12” of a healthy twig, preferably a young one from prior year, stick it in a pot with potting soil and keep watered. Ideally take clipping before green up, February. Might have some success now. And... cover the cutting with a 2 liter clear bottle for a while. They need that moisture early. No overwhelming sunshine either.
