A friend of mine is in a club where they only shoot 5yrs old or older. Regardless of the rack. They kill some great deer each season. They started only filling up feeders at night a couple years ago. He says the deer don’t spook near as bad at night as they do during the day. Anyone else feed only at night???

We feed ourselves at night!! Some nights at the camp that’s a pretty good challenge!! No way we could try to fill feeders!!!

It's hard to kiss the lips at night that chews your a$$ all day long.

I fill my spin feeders right before a rain. But I usually only have to refill once in mid December and I might put another sack in during February to carry through March.

I don’t think it matters if done properly.

If the deer are used to the vehicle feeding them then I don’t really think it matters but if something the deer don’t know rolls up day or night it will have them a little spooked. I can feed mine day or night and most of the time within 30 minutes there’s deer back on it

I've got pics of my friend filling his feeders in the middle of the afternoon and deer eating under his feeder 20 min later.

I usually fill my feeders after dark due to my schedule. I have been tinkering with a timer after filling feeder and had deer come within 50 yrds while I'm there. (Turned SXS headlights on to leave and saw them) On one occasion, my SXS battery died and I left it in the woods overnight about 10 feet from feeder. I got pictures all night of deer feeding.

Deer don't spook in the daytime if you don't shoot them. I put feed in feeders and deer are out 15 mins later, not sure what doing it at night would do besides increasing the pressure during a time when they should have no pressure

7 minutes is the shortest time I have between filling a feeder and deer being under it eating corn.

If they are used to you doing it for years on end they dont seem to really give a damn.

You're safe doing it in the daylight. They spook less going to the stand to hunt in the dark IMO.
