My oldest son sent me this, its from his apartment complex. The same folks complain about seeing folks curtains, the color of trash bags(recycling stuff) and the occasional couple who leave their blinds open so they can share their nekkid time with everybody. This is the email they got today. This is in Baton Rouge.
Attention Valued Residents,

Good for them. Probably a great way to keep the place looking nice. Ive never met a super clean dope smoker. Well, maybe one or two but most have dirty cars and dishes to be washed.

I have it on my lease agreement for my apt complex each tenant signs ..... I don't play the DEA task force though.... I let local law enforcement handle it... I've had tenants call me with complaints about other tenants smoking weed outside of their apartments and stories of weed crack and meth dealers showing up selling drugs...some dealers have even threatened tenants to mind their own business ... tenants call me and ask what am I going to do.... I tell the tenant you saw it or were threatened I didn't see it or was threatened so I tell them call the sheriffs office... he'll get his task force on it.... thank goodness right now I have no children living at the complex...
I know it sounds like I don't care but I've been through this before and I've been asked by task force agents did I see the use of drugs taking place and or was I personally threatened by a dealer ,,, no I wasn't ...no case unless I can give them really good solid intel. They say we'll keep a eye out when we're though the area...but if I can get a tenant with some good solid first hand intel they can do way more.... I ask them when they plan a raid ,,, please don't destroy the doors to my apts,,,,call me and I will give them a key ...sort of funny though ... I can't say I blame them for not making me a promise to ask for a key....

It didn't even occur to me about Louisiana moving towards legalization, but it makes sense cause of New Orleans and such. Heck, my first unsupervised trip to the quarter when I was 11 folks were trying to sell me weed openly back then and I didnt even know what it was.

I don't care if the apartment owners say no to it on thier property. Don't say it is generally illegal. Farm bill says otherwise up to .03%. They should have just said "we don't want it".

In Louisiana the state is messing around with how to make weed legal, like here. So there is some confusion right now about what is and is not legal. But he is right, if the apt. complex has it in the lease then that is all they should have to say. Saying anything more just creates confusion and more weed. In other words, do not give pot heads any thing extra to think about because they will get it wrong everytime.

To me it's the owner's building and they can do what they want to do the law shouldn't matter. I know it does but if they don't want someone smoking weed there that's fine but they need to ban smoking cigs along with it.... the smell is the issue. That's what we are talking about... smelling it. It's hurting you about ZERO otherwise.
So what you are saying is exactly this... you think it should be banned because you don't want to smell it. I'm ok with that I don't like how it smells myself and don't want week smoke rolling out of the door across the breezeway.
Not your cup of tea....What are you going to do? Ask management to move you to another apartment when one comes available.
All pretty simple and doesn't seem like much of a real problem to me. That's life.

Please explain this? Not being a smart A but I don't know what this is your talking about Longshot you can legally buy pot in Alabama. Farm bill says up to .03 percent THC in what ever form. It will get you high just as well as stuff bought from an illegal source. One you buy in a CBD store..the other you buy from a connection. Who's gonna check if you are smoking legal or illegal.

I'm not going to try it my head will just feel like a balloon for a couple hours. I don't like this stuff and don't see the draw.... but I've also been around plenty of alcoholics. They worse - 10 fold. Other than being lazy and liking to live around trash like empty potato chip bags not many pot heads have hurt anything or anyone else. Can't say the same for the Drunks. I know we've got plenty on here that think there is absolutely nothing wrong with alcohol or giving their kids meth every morning before school. All that is perfectly fine.
I use to live in an Apartment I am sure if you went to management and told them that you wanted to move... the dude across the hall is a pot head.... they would move you when another unit became available. If they won't do that you don't need to be living in that complex that kind of management is where you find this type of activity. When the lease is up MOVE.

If you don't want to smell it in public everywhere, don't let your state make it legal. Amen. I really don't want all outdoor public spaces smelling like skunk weed. I've been to larger cities where that is the case. More & more I'm smelling it now when cars pass in traffic in my hometown.
The left lane is for the the purpose of moving the flow of traffic forward regardless of the speed limit. If your impeding the flow of traffic get your ass in the right lane. It's really that simple...
