I'm fixin to get one of those and wondered if anyone has an input to a decent model? I see Chapin has one for about $60 and then another model for $140. Solo and Scott has some. I want a hand-pump model. Been looking at this: $140 Chapin Model. TIA

Have you considered a battery powered model? I bought a DeWalt 4 gal 20V backpack sprayer and my old 4 gal pump sprayer is collecting dust now.

I’ve used solos for years and unless you’re using chemicals you shouldn’t be in it it will last you years. I’ve probably sprayed a couple thousand gallons out of them. Just don’t let it freeze or leave roundup in it for really long times.

In Agreement with AU338MAG. The Battery Powered ones make life a lot easier.

I have a Ryobi battery powered now and I won't go back.

Don't buy the Kobalt battery operated one. Pump housing cracks on those, happened to me and it's a known problem as per google reviews. I will say Kobalt has 5 yr warranty and they gave me a full refund after having it for over a year.

My son let me borrow his Stihl hand pump backpack sprayer. That thing wore my a$$ out! Between the weight and needing to constantly pump, I lasted about 10 minutes. If I were to buy one, I'd definitely look at a battery powered model.

I’ve got this Chapin, but mines an older model. I’ve had it for about 10 years and no issues. Wouldn’t hesitate to buy another.

Whatever style is in the picture above is what I have. I can’t remember the name on it but It’s been going for years. That same sprayer probably has 20 different brands with their name on it. I sit it up on the porch handrail and then slip into the harness. Probably not the best setup but it gets the job done.

I appreciate the responses. Never thought of a battery one yet. Just figured the simplicity of a hand pump would be lighter, and charging is one less thing to think about before traveling to the property. I may look into them. Thanks.

$75 at Lowe's
Just make sure to rinse well after use. I hang upside down and rinse as well.

The dewalt sprayer is great for me because I already have multiple batteries. It has good reviews. The harness fits great and is far better than others I've used.

I've read that it's actually made by a proven sprayer manufacturer modified to accept dewalt 20V batteries, and of course the Yellow and Black colors.

A good forum to check out products like these is the Lawn Forum.

I should add if you have a SxS. With the Battery Powered Sprayers, put the Tank in the Back, run the Wand up to the Cab with you and Spray. Really makes things Easier, takes away Lugging around a 4Gallon Tank on your Back. Obviously this is Small Scale Spraying. Around the Yard our whatever. I’ve got the 3 point hitch sprayer for the Tractor.

I've always had Solo 4gal back pack sprayers. They hold up pretty well. You can switch the pump handle to the right or left side on the ones I've had.

Its not that hard to pump and spray IMO.
