I highly recommend it. Been at it about three years now.

I do plan to travel quite a bit and build a great room, bar, master bedroom, master bath addition to the cabin. I have that old Ford 4x4 truck to fix up and an old motorcycle to fix up too.

Don't know what I'll work on after that or if any of it might make a little extra money. Though about Photography then taking some of the best photos, printing them out, framing them and selling them at art shows, but I don't like the idea of sitting around all day in a little canopy while people browse your stuff, smile and make small talk.

Some ideas that pop in your head sound good initially, but then when you mull them over and then toss the idea.

I met a guy at an arts and crafts show in Mentone. He was retired and spent his time building canoes with stringers and frames and then used a special material to cover them and then use some kind of activator to stretch tight and cure it. They were partially transparent and the lightest canoes I have ever seen. He had a piece of the material cured and stretch on a wooden frame that you could hit as hard as you wanted and try to break it. I couldn't. They were big dollar canoes.

I'll probably move some cash into a self directed account and play around investing just for fun and spend the rest of my piddling on whatever I want to do.

You could start a cooking blog and a restaurant review blog (and/or YouTube channels). You have already had lots of practice on here.

You are very kind to say that, and Irish Jr. has told us we need to do it too. We have considered it. I've always wanted to have a quiet Irish pub (I've always wanted to be a bartender, crazy aspiration I know.) and serve a very limited menu, but any kind of restaurant or bar just sounds like a hell of a lot of hard work.

We watch A LOT of Youtube content. mainly travel, cooking, and camping stuff. (I personally watch a lot of motorcycle travel content too) and we have given a lot of thought as to what our Youtube channel would look like. It would have: Frugal travel to unique places both in the US and abroad, Camping with camp cooking, Cabin living and homesteading with cabin cooking and various projects, and Motorcycle travel with motorcycle camping and cooking.

So we have considered it. I can assure you that if we do it, y'all we be the first to know.

I chose to be a professional husband for my side gig. Seems to be working well so far. It may not pay up front but definitely has the potential to save 1/2 of my assets on the back end. Definitely comes with some great benefits and work environment. smile

I moonlight a bunch at a rural hospital as well as was doing disability exams and worked urgent care. The hospital gig is nice as I’m making more money working more hours but able to do a good portion remotely so have been able to hang with the wife and my son a lot more etc. I’m working on average around 120 hrs a week nowadays but don’t miss anything family wise due to above. Helps to pay the bills and for my 11 month old son stuff as everyday I see a new Amazon box etc 😂

I would love to find some kind of small side gig, just to fund my hobbies........the problem is that most of the side gigs I've thought of so far would interfere with said hobbies grin

I actually enjoy doing yard work, and spent several springs/summers in highschool doing that for money.....but with a regular 8-5 job, the only time I'd have to do it would be afternoons/evenings and weekends. And if I spend all my afternoons/weekends cutting grass, I won't have time to hunt/fish. It's a catch-22.

If I thought I could do that full-time and make what I make now, I'd do it in a heartbeat, but it seems like everyone and his brother around here has a "lawncare business".....it's a saturated market

I am in charge of Quality Control at a high $ whore house. The pay sucks, but you can't beat the benefits.
