Serious question - Do these not smell fishy? Do they taste fishy? Tried sardines when I was younger and couldn't get past the smell, but don't remember what brand.
I've had fried/grilled fish before that I wouldn't eat because of the overly "fishy" taste or smell. Our favorites to cook are grilled amberjack, fried/grilled striper, grouper, flounder, crappie, snapper, and similar.
Same here. Try the smoked ones and mackerel. It's less fishy than tuna in the can. It's worth trying. Lobster. Those look good. I'm gonna give those a try. Where do you get those? They are on Amazon.

Need to give the King Oscar smoked kipper snacks a try! (they got me started) I'm same way when it comes to fish, don't give me no nasty ass, lock my jaw up fishy tasting chit, that taste like the azz from a lot lizard 😄 Seriously it's why some folks get turn off of fish, you go grabbing a nice piece of fish and it tastes great, then the nxt tastes like a lot lizard azz! Why i have trouble eating catfish that other folks clean! Dammit James! I’ll never be able to eat fish again.

Exactly, you and me both!!! My father in law showed me how to clean catfish when I started dating my soon to be wife, and simply would not allow "chitt that wasn't good, white fish flesh."
half of one, six dozen of the other I can eat fifty eggs.........Cool Hand Luke

I’m interested in that king Oscar mackerel. Waiting on your review on that one. What’s weird is I have always avoided it because mackerel is oily. But I only buy tinned fish in oil. I know it is just weird. The mackerel in olive oil is my favorite. Since this thread I've been trying some out and been meaning to post my findings.so far KO mackerel in olive oil is my favorite (the one with the olive on the can KO mackerel with jalapenos is a very close second, maybe would of been number 1 but I got heartburn once The KO smoked was third fav.(Think it might of been herring, can't remember)I didn't like it as much with hot sauce but l loved it with soy sauce. It was the first one I tried, after that I preferred the soy to all the ones above, the others were good with hot sauce. Didn't like the KO sardines and threw them away, without even trying them Today I tried the KO salmon and although edible. It's my least favorite of the ones I ate. Little too fishy. I drain them, add soy and break apart with fork. I'm hooked. Thanks for this thread, it has brought me alot of enjoyment. Been eating 2 cans everyday when I get home from work Keep in mind, I don't eat sardines. So that's more of a me thing, than the KO sardines not being good Careful... Google about Sardines and Gout. Apparently, for some people, eating too many sardines will give you gout. I love the olive oil they are packed in. When I make a salad I put the 'deens on it then drizzle on the olive oil from the can onto the rest of the salad, then add the juice from about half a lemon, then sprinkle on a little Cavender's seasoning and it's like a Greek dressing. Good stuff. It's like a low carb Omega 3, high protein, explosion.

I'll bet throwing those little guys in the toaster oven really smells up the cabin... Doesn't look bad though. I'll be the guinea pig and try it.
