If you travel for work a good bit, it is well worth it. If you rarely fly, no issue, don't register for/purchase it.
experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

Last I saw TSA precheck was $78, and the vast majority of travelers don’t do it. It’s not required. $149 for processing, $85 every 5 years for the privilege.

If you travel for work a good bit, it is well worth it. If you rarely fly, no issue, don't register for/purchase it. Exactly, especially if you work outside of the US. Global Entry is the best thing there is for working outside of the US. If you’ve ever flown into LAX and get in line with thousands of Asians, you’d agree too. For small airports, having TSA pre-check is not that big of a deal (except for not having to take off your shoes, belt, jacket, and empty your bags) as there’s usually not a ton of people in line but if you fly from a big airport, it’s worth every penny.

Mine was $85 and nothing else. PreChek is fantastic, until they put you in line with everyone else to wait to scan and the only difference is you don't have to undress. That's not a benefit. You're still waiting in line. If I traveled as much as I did years ago, I'd have Clear and Global Entry and TSAUpMyButt and whatever else it took to get through customs and security easier. The next coming attraction is Facial Recognition. It's already in place at several airports. Quite easy. We have used it a few times in other countries -- which means "they" know over there, too! -- and it's fast. "They" already know everything about us. "They" have our data, our preferences, our website favorites and visits and everything else. Paying for an easier passage through a line is worth it if you travel. Or, don't pay. But don't bitch about standing in line, undressing, being behind MeeMaw and PeePaw who don't travel, or the lunkhead complaining about everything, or the stinkin' fatass wearing sweats who didn't shower that morning, or the Karen, and all that chit, either.

https://pre-traveler-application.co...1fC56NkyE2BbuaDbOQyfHOfLpChoCyx0QAvD_BwEI guess you would be good with giving a DNA sample too? I bet you hand your ID over to every LEO that asks for it as well? They want to search your house or vehicle without a warrant, sure no problem? Let me see your guns and write down all the serial nunbers? Digital currency? Where is the line where its to far? The problem with the TSA is they don't target the people they should target. It is like what Jefferson County did when the citizens wouldn't vote to let them add an unconstitutional occupational tax back. Make people wait forever to renew their tag.

There is no processing fee for TSA Precheck.
It's $78.00 (hasn't been $85 for about 3 years) the first time you sign up...period. After that, renewal is $70.
I had Precheck for 5 years, then switched to Global Entry due to the contract work I do overseas after retiring.

You goober, that is a 3rd party company that is charging you $150 to process the application for you. You can do it yourself on the TSA site and it’s just the $78 fee. Do you also fall for those text message scams saying you owe the IRS money and will be arrested in 24hrs if you don’t send them online Visa gift cards?

That's some sort of scam website. Go to TSA's website...there is no processing fee. If they'd only make an "ABOUT US" section on their website Oh, hold that thought for a sec... ABOUT US ABOUT US
