Gotta do something or else you get San Fransisco or Portland. One of things that happened there and other places was that homeless folks found places where they were not bothered by authorities. They do not care if the are not accepted they only care about not being bothered by the authorities. When they find places that are even a little tolerant they flood in and quickly overwhelm anything local enforcement can do. When that happens, local politicians, like in Portland tend to create policies which create further problems. The reality is, that for a community to not turn into a sh1thole with a bunch of problems is to run them off to begin with. If they know they are not going to have an easy go of it in that place, they will move on to another town.

There are homeless encampments your average goober walks by everyday and not see them as encampment.s Yes even in the "Nice parts of town." I don't have the answers but as long as money is made in drug rehab the money will get more treatment than people. Everyone and their brother knows our mental health system needs reformed but as long as the cash cow of Pharma/Insurance/Medical keeps giving that money milk to those industries peoples needs will not be met. Want to fixes a lot of mental health issues but that has to come upon acceptance of self reliance and that message is not being given in the "Everyone's a victim including you and I'm getting paid." Advice.

Fact of the matter is that there are some who absolutely choose to live on the streets as opposed to those who have fallen on seriously hard times and cannot catch a break and would be appreciative of some help. So, I don't know what type encampments they would be talking about for those who do not want to live in a building. Maybe particular state maintained campgrounds for those types? Obviously the vacationers would not want to stay in those, though, to supplement the financial support of them.

There is a growing homeless/vagrant camp on Chantilly Parkway in East Montgomery . There is a guy in a travel trailer( in what was supposed to be the Lowes big box store location) there for a year or 18 mos. I've seen police move people off the VA hospital grounds nearby, but a new tent pops up in the other spot every few days.

Simple and much less expensive to give them a bus ticket and $300 cash to California. The cities of Fort Lauderdale and Miami did just that back when the World Series was played in Miami. Babe them the choice of being locked up or a bus ride.

The other fun thing that the Dems are doing is that they are giving the illegal invaders free homes and healthcare but not doing a damn thing for any of our homeless natural born citizens.
