What about if something is legal but you don’t think it’s good for the resource……Is it ok to have an opinion??.....For example, if they made it legal to hunt turkeys with a rifle……..Should everyone support that because the state made it legal and it makes some people happy?
I'd support rifle hunting for turkeys in the month of Nov with a 1 bird limit. Seems like a natural cultural right to be able to eat a self killed wild turkey for Thanksgiving.
You gonna pull them pistols, or whistle Dixie?

Back in the 70's several counties down south had a fall turkey season. There were many turkeys killed for Thanksgiving during this period and most were killed with a rifle! Those were the good ole days.
I can't stand a thief.

I’m trying to give my son a life of fulfillment and memories
I want him to see deer and hear turkey often and have a chance at em make him happy.
I want him to enjoy a good camp life and have fun being a young man with his pops.
I want him to learn life lessons along the way.
I want him to get the highs and lows can life deals to you often experience with hunting.
I want him to remember and cherish our time together on my last days and hopefully until his, just like I will.
If he’s my trigger man I don’t care if I kill another one, it’s funny how the answer had changed with time.

We had an awesome year, killed 8 bucks that were at least 8 point or better. My little girl had several opportunities to kill one but it didn’t pan out. That could have easily been 9-10 good racked bucks. We’re any of them “monsters” not to me personally but I wouldn’t change one single shot that was made. I would hope for the exact same type of season every year the rest of my life and I’d be fine. To ask for any more would be selfish and dreaming in my eyes. I am not and never will be the type of guy who goes two years and never pulls the trigger because I enjoy killing deer. I enjoy others who come hunting with me, when they kill deer. When I was a kid we dog hunted and I got JUST as excited when I heard someone else shoot. Back when the Roost was in operation I remember reading on their web site or pamphlet that they specialize in 16” deer that will put a smile on anyone’s face. That stuck with me and I’m still that way. Why has that changed for so many people, and why is it so important to push that same philosophy on everyone else? This year made me happy! One of our best imo! We did 3 euro mounts and no head mounts, and we’re all fine with that. Had a similar season last year, which mad this past season terrible Still had fun but we shot 0 bucks as we had killed all the mature ones the last yr.

James I didn’t mean I had a problem with it. I just meant you didn’t have to wait on a fall season to become law. You could just freeze a spring turkey to cook in the fall. Don’t have to kill one illegally to have it for thanksgiving. You can still have the good ole days now. A wild turkey for thanksgiving.
Oh i know man 😆 Was clarifying i kilt em with a shotgun after reading the above post lol

I bought a three bbl German drilling 16X16X9.3x72 just for turkeys when deer hunting . Killed exactly ONE gobbler with the 16ga bbl. Ha! Killed several deer with the rifle bble, inc a nice Fallow Buck.

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Let's say you lease 300 acres and your neighbor owns his 300 acres. Who has more rights? Rights are the same on both sides of the line So you think the lease owner has the right to tell the land owner what he should shoot? No. Neither one of them own the deer so neither of them have that right. What the heck are you talking about man?
