He probably got the less than a year left diagnoses like John McCain and Ted Kennedy did. They both stepped down when the docs told them they will not be able to see the horrors they unleashed come to fruition.

Mitch is stepping down in November so that he can ensure him and his cronies torpedo any and all Republicans leading up to and during the November Election.
Just like they did at the Mid-Terms to ensure that Republicans are not in charge.
Hopefully he won't make it to November. Traitor.

Stepping down in November but not giving up his senate seat. He is going to hold onto his seat until his timer runs out. He is that kind of asshole and a perfect example of why we need term limits, and why we need to have a way to legally remove him from existence.
