Best move I ever made. Family history of joint issues in hip and knees. I had mine done 10 years ago. Surgery went well and I was in my way to a speedy recovery but from out of nowhere I developed pancreatitus and My gall bladder went to mush. I had my gall bladder removed 6 days after my hip replacement. I did better with the hip than the gall bladder.
Looking back I am doing everything I want to do anyway I want to do it. Folks who don’t know me can’t believe I only have one working hip. I never slow down and it never hurts or lets me down.
God has a lot to do with it also! I would do it again in a heartbeat. Good luck.

Not gonna lie, the posterior surgery approach sucks. But now that the rehab is over I don’t hurt anymore. Do your best exercises religiously and follow the advice of the surgeon and PTs. Still have some limitations on the end range of motion but pain free I am being told it will be an anterior incision....robotic surgery...

I've had both hips replaced. Anterior robotic will be the easiest recovery there is. You'll be walking a few hours after the surgery. I woke up with relief on both of mine. Had incision pain, but the joint pain was gone just like that. I spent about 10 days at home in the recliner each time, and went back to work feeling great.
It really is the easiest joint replacement surgery to have. Pain was manageable with meds, and after about 2- 3 days I didn't need them anymore.
My advice is to try to keep that leg and your core as strong as possible, and recovery will be much easier. You'll be amazed at how quickly you'll lose core strength when you are laid up for a week or two.
I had to have posterior approach on both though (long story), and I have heard anterior is so much easier.
