Not the Mississippi State camp but my son went to University of Alabama camp many years ago. Just don’t expect too much. It’s a money maker for the program and that’s about it. They will have players running most every aspect of the camp. What are you looking for out of the camp is what will be the question. It will be fun and a great experience. Their field and facilities are amazing. Been there when my son played against em and it was a great experience for me and him.

Yes , my son went to one at Miss State , but that's been nearly 20 years ago when Ron Polk was there. It was a fine camp with fine instruction back then.

Can confirm, this is how they pay their lower level / volunteer coaches.

I took a grandson to the 4 day Alabama camp last summer. We left after 2 days. It was nothing but a Park & Rec day care. There were only 8 kids > 12 years old. The camp was run by a GA who had been on campus for 1 week.

The camp was run by a GA who had been on campus for 1 week. We did the 4 day camp a couple years ago and he wasn't too thrilled with it. I think he'd enjoy the overnight experience and nothing but baseball for a few days.

If he's really into baseball, it is a thrill to take batting practice and run drills on Dudy Noble Field. It is intimidating at first, but the facilities are top notch and is a memory that lasts. I went when I was in little league... 10 or 12 (40 yrs ago) ...and Coach Polk was teaching the catchers (me). I loved catching and took many pointers away from the camp that carried through my playing days.. Not sure if Lemonis will still be there this summer, but as stated earlier it is mostly assistants running the camps, along with some players, too.
*We played Starkville Academy at Dudy Noble for a double header in highschool (junior year) and I have to say, it was still intimidating to play on.

I have no idea what it’s like now, but I went 33 years ago and it was awesome. There was no down time. You did baseball stuff all day everyday with meals and what seemed like very little sleep. I learned a lot and I was 17 years old at the time. I wish I had gone when I was much younger, but back then, there wasn’t as much of the travel ball and one sport commitments.
If you want to always win, never play anyone better than you!

This would just be for fun, not trying to get a scholarship or anything. He's only 14, but he can hit one out, so I think he'd be thrilled if he connected with one on that field, even if just for BP. Thanks for the good word being put in for Stovall, that wasn't on my radar.

Miss State is cool for the history and I know a couple people that went there years ago and liked it. But, my guess is Southern Miss, South Alabama, Jacksonville State, and the two big srate schools in Alabama have good camps too.
