Saw a tiktok from Slick Johnson talking about some apparent drama at the HS tournament at Smith Lake this past weekend. Apparently one of the dads/captains got pissed off at a local for using the same ramp as them on tournament morning and pulled a gun on him. I'm sure there's a lot more to the story though.
Anyone "in the know"?

Haven't heard that. I did drive thru there sunday and saw 2 boats with kids in their school shirts and captains sitting on the big motors in ryan creek there at whitlocks...said there must be a hs tourney going on.
The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

Pulling a gun because of traffic at the boat ramp?? My understanding was the ramp was crowded with HS tournament boats waiting to load or unload and a local was also trying to use the ramp, so the HS boat dad got mad and pulled a gun. I don't know if he thought the guy was trying to skip in line or something (not that it would be a valid excuse for pulling a gun). I noticed one of the comments was from someone that was allegedly there and said both parties were "in the wrong", so who knows.

Not taking sides by any means, but, tournament guys do think they own the ramp around here. You should hear the comments and see the looks I get while working on boats at the ramp. Especially loading and unloading by myself with some old POS that won’t stay running long enough for me to diagnose it.

I was there as a captain for my son and his partner and didn’t hear anything about it. I think airport marine had a tournament there also but they used a different landing which landing did this happen at? We used the one at the dam. I did hear a few that would probably like to pull one on ole Slick for cutting a few people off, there is plenty of water out there to not have to pull up right on top of somebody. I dont personally know the man but he seems the type. I watched one or 2 of his videos and now immediately scroll on by without a view. Seems to think hes somebody though

Alabama river,,,,Cooters pond ramps .... don't fish by yourself.... have a partner with you to man the truck and be in line with everybody else... I got there way before daylight and put in ,,,waited till light enough to see went off to fish... came back in early to get ready for Sundays fishing and was shocked to see all the locals launching and coming out of the river....there must have been fifty boats waiting to get off the water not including those wanting to get in...
It was dark before I got my turn to put my boat on the trailer.... through all that there were three arguments ... plenty of wives ,girlfriends and kids present... there was plenty of you MF'er ... F you.....you cork soaker... and bastages being thrown in ,,,,two of them almost erupted into fights, the third wouldn't move his trailer even though he had skipped the line... kept telling folks make me ,,,,make me... you son of a ***** .... I though surely someone has called a law man... nope.... no telling how many folks there had their handgun at the ready with all that going on....
