We talked for about an hour about politics, i guess. It seemed like an hour anyhow. First of all, ive been called aggressive in my tone and way of speaking. I tried so very hard to be polite and respectful in my speaking because i really wanted to have a conversation with this lady, not to mention she would provide me a good paying days work. This was an older lady, late 60s early 70s i guess. She was not dumb, appeared to be a normal lower middle class person. She said repeatedlt "i dont like Trump". I asked her what she didnt like about Trump besides his talking and demeaner. She said she didnt like the way he treated military families. She said Tucker Carlson did the media a great dis service with the lies he tells. I asked what lies. She said the election fraud. It was very clear she was just as passionate about her views as i was about mine, we were just opposite. Im almost 100% certain all her opinions had been established by watching the news she watches, but she said she didnt watch hardly any news. I also hardly watch news but have strong opinions opposite of hers. I couldnt figure out for the life of me how two reasonably intelligent humans could come to such differing opinions of whats going on in this country. When finished i shook her hand, told her i appreciated her talking to me and it was good two people with such differing opinions could talk civily. I told her i loved her and would see her in a month or so to trim her trees.

You have more patience than I do. But then again most conservatives think with their head .

I was very intent on leaving there having learned something and with a days work to do. I was pleased with the way it turned out

My step mother is the same way. I don't even try. Avoid conversations about anything political.

Trumps an idiot. Didn’t you know that? If you don’t believe me just ask my liberal in-laws. That’s their ”go to” statement. I always ask them what he has done to make him an idiot and follow up with he didn’t get as rich as he is by being stupid. They never have a response to that.

I have an older brother that I have always respected and looked up to. The last decade or so he has become more and more liberal. It used to be that he was every bit as conservative as I was. He had been a scoutmaster for decades and quit the organization when they allowed a gay man to be a scoutmaster. Now he votes all Ds and hates Trump. I'm not really sure what happened, but we rarely speak anymore. It's sad because he's really a great guy, was a great father that raised an Eagle scout and was active with his kids sports and church.

You will never convince anyone that isn't willing to use THE facts to weigh in on the decision making process. People have been conditioned to believe certain people or certain lines of influence but never check the integrity of those so called facts they use to come to their stance. Sad time we live in when all information at our fingertips and never used.
