I’ve been watching videos for weeks to see which one is better and all I’ve gotten is they appear to be pretty much equal. I’m going to have it going through an Indian Creek triple nickel. Anyone have any actual experience shooting the two? I don’t feel like blowing $120 dollars and an afternoon figuring out which one is better. Thanks in advance.

Apex are as close as you can get to Hal’s hand load recipes. Apex hands down. I am using a .570 choke

I bought a box years ago, before they were cool. The third one out of the box sounded like a cap gun going off, then smoke rolled out the end of my barrel. I had five strutting at 40 yards. Needless to say - I tried other TSS after that grin

Others had the same experience.

But I’m sure they’ve solved that by now.

I’ve only shot Apex and it’s plenty for me. When you finally get one in range, you don’t want to have to worry about your shell. If choosing between the two, Apex would be hard to beat.

I was leaning to Apex but have seen all kinds of hype on Verdict. This just helped me pull the trigger on Apex. I’ve always shot federal premium not thinking it was a big deal but after watching a few hours of patterning videos the difference is pretty substantial.

Oh yeah federal would be the last of the 3…they short you on shot too as well as have less pellets. It’s a no brainer to stop shooting them as you’ve seen

Rocky ridge ammo co has a 2oz 20 gauge load. I roll my own and like the heavier load. May be a good option

I’ve never heard of those, but that’s a dang good price for a factory 2 oz load. I have rolled Hal’s MOA load and it has significant recoil

Herter’s ammo is made by Winchester

That MOA load out of a 5lb 20ga will put hair on your chest. I don’t think there is any recoil comparable. It makes my 835 with 3.5” nitros seem like a pleasant shooter.

I’ve shot Apex for two years now and haven’t thought about using anything else. Killed with both my 12 and 20. You won’t regret choosing them.

I have 2 Remington 870 20ga…both 26in barrels my primary gun is a .555 indian creek black diamond strike…the other which is my wife’s..is a .560 kicks gobblin thunder…both pattern very well..but i think id give the edge to the kicks…that gun slings one of the nastiest patterns i ever seen..both of those guns will annihilate a turkey wayy too far.
