Give me quality over quantity any day. I’ve killed a pile of turkey and deer on teeny, tiny tracts that your average Alabama lease holders would turn their noses up at. Parcels half the size of what CNC is proposing.

There is an 80 acre block of private is the section of Portland Landing SOA I hunted last year. I imagine they could get a pretty penny if they leased it out.

I hunt 55 acres that is an L shape. Family land that I hunt for free, that will probably change when my cousin dies. Don't want to lose it but will depend on the price.

Not to be rude, but 25 acres x $100 is $2500, not $25,000.

At $25,000, then I am doing something else entirely, as you stated.

I pay at least $2500 each for me and my wife to hunt South Texas every year. Different ranch this past season, and it was a bit more. If I could lease a high quality property close to home with high potential and unlimited access, then yes, I would be in. I know how to play the wind and maximize my opportunities.

Hell no. I dropped 200 acres for $2k yes the deer were mediocre but I’m not willing to pay that anymore for no turkey’s. No if it was primo deer and turkey hunting then I might consider it. Deer alone I’ll hunt public land the rest of my life.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

Absolutely.

If it’s in a funnel or major travel corridor, I wouldn’t think twice. Especially if you only shoot a handful per year.

If I could pay $2500 a year for 100 acres and put in minimal effort knowing the potential that was there, vs putting in $3500 for a 3000 acre lease with others to compete with, work days, additional pressure, etc. It’s really not a bad deal if I’m the right location with the right neighbors.
