We got a new Telluride a couple of years ago. Great vehicle and not too bad on gas. We’ll drive to Pensacola and back under 1/2 tank.

Another vote for the Highlander.
I have a Hyundai Santa Fe and my daughter’s car is a Sonata. I’ll never own another Hyundai. Paint started coming off the Santa Fe. I was able to negotiate a deal with them to paint the vehicle. My out of pocket was around $700. Now both are burning oil and require me to top them off a couple times between oil changes. My daughter’s Sonata burns it so bad it takes about 3 quarts in between 5k oil changes. I filed a claim with Hyundai because this was a nationwide issue and folks were burning their engines up due to lack of oil. Some they paid for, but are denying most now. I had to leave it at the dealer 3 times for them to do all the tests on the engine to see if it met the requirements for them to replace it. It failed every test and the dealer submitted it for engine replacement . Then Hyundai comes back and denies it, saying it was out of warranty. It had 75k miles on it. Why in the hell couldn’t they have said that up front and spared me the expense of taking it in 3 times. A friend burned her engine up at 115k miles and they replaced. So, I’m just adding oil until my daughter decides on what she wants next and I can dump that POS.
Piss on Hyundai. We have had two Santa Fes and loved them! But, they were 2008 and 2014 models. I sold the 2014 and we still have the 2008 and DoA drives it to work (so it doesn't get driven a whole lot since it sits for 28 days at the heliport and then he drives his truck when he is home). What year models are yours?

Just get a Tahoe, gas mileage shouldn’t keep you from a comfortable ride. Besides if you can afford a big SUV you can probably afford the gas to drive it You Tahoe/Yukon folks must be in a different tax bracket than me, and I feel like we do alright. $55-65k for a 2yr old vehicle with 60-70k or $80-90k for a new one is absolute insanity

The GMC Yukon with the 3.0 Duramax diesel is your Huckleberry. Would love this but probably out of our budget, even a 2-3 year old one. My sister had a Santa Fe and she wasn’t happy with it either. She has a new Palisade and likes it so far. Extreme, my wife drives very little now, maybe 5k miles a year. But we take the crew cab almost everywhere. A more comfortable suv would get driven more, the truck less, so mileage would go up on the suv, down on the truck. I agree with your assessment about comfort vs mileage. The truck get 22-24 on the road, less around town of course. If I could get that in a full size I’d be happy.

We’re looking to stay near $30k on a used one.
