Probably one of the worst calls I’ve ever worked was a guy trimming trees in a man lift and somehow got in the power line. It basically cooked him from the inside out!! He was still smoking when I got there. Burned his clothes into his skin. Neighbors from as much as a mile away said they heard the pop when it happened. One of our parish workers was across the highway and saw the big bright flash!! The young guy that was helping the guy said he thought the flash had burned his eyes because he couldn’t see anything for a few minutes. Also it was a battery powered man lift and it fried everything down to the battery. Guys with the power company was able to get the man lift down to get the body out. He knocked the whole areas power off. I’ll never forget that smell. If there is one blessing out of all that, it’s the the power company guy said he never felt anything. It was almost instant death. Hope I or anyone never has to see anything like that.

Friend of mine has some hunting property on the Tensaw river. Big power lines run thru the property. He said guy next to him tried to run power from the transmission lines to his cabin. Of course he killed himself in the process.
