If you’re a common sense person, you probably don’t feel you have a home in this world right now. If you’re a Christian, you know you were never meant to.
That scene changed my life. The humbleness of that man knowing what was done for him. His family behind him, the love of his life still validating him, the struggle within of never being enough, and the honor of that pin on his jacket. I was a freshman in college and my alcoholic father (physically abusive) was starting his battle with cancer. He passed the following year. That scene was my beacon for life. I was going to be something. I was not a believer then.
Fast forward 10 years. Working 70 hours a week climbing the ladder and fixing to fly to Boeing due to a issue with one of our products. I was going to miss a birthday, big game etc. I was going skip church and head into the office before my flight to look at some data (gold embrittlement issue). My family begged me to come, reluctantly I went. The band at church came on stage and played this song. Holy crap this is my life (ultimately ended the same too). The holy spirit touched me. In following weeks I was saved. Not sure why I typed all that. Maybe one of you young bucks will learn from my mistakes.
Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.
