I paid $700 for a Roomba.. It died 13 months after I bought it... I tried to get them to fix it but NO CAN DO cause it was a month out or warranty.. They said it was an internal problem and not anything I did..They did offer me a $100 credit towards the purchase of a new one.. I don't know about the other brands, don't buy a Roomba..

Just my 2cents worth..

We had one for a while, not a Roomba but one from Amazon. It did a decent job as long as the house was clutter-free, but we have two kids that were roughly 6 and 8 at the time, and our house is "lived in", not one of those picture-perfect-all-the-time houses, so there was always toys or random pieces of clothing or shoes, or dog toys or whatever else you can think of laying around that it would have to navigate, which meant missing a lot of spots.

If you have a relatively clutter-free house, and especially if you don't have a pet that sheds a lot, they do pretty good. I cannot attest to how well they work if you have an indoor pet that sheds moderately/heavily

We have the Eufy. Works very well. If you have pets in the house make sure there are no "accidents" laying around. You DO NOT want that in your life. Don't ask how I know.

that would be a "throw it away and buy a new one" situation

Dad has a German Shepherd in the house and has to empty his when he gets home and it finished running its session. Of course some times of the year are worse than others, but he said he generally has to dump it before it finishes.

experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

Pros - runs whenever you want, and will not bitch about having to vacuum.
Cons - If it ever runs into a pile of Dog $h!+ if your indoor fifi has an accident.

We have a couple of the Eufy brands. They have been running for several years now. I feel like they are a must have if you have animals that shed in the house. Wife says it was one of the best things we ever bought.

I bought wife a room a for Christmas. It does a good job. It does not replace the occasional big vacuuming requirement, but I am always surprised how much it picks up. It occasionally dies before it finds its way back to charger. From what I read that has more to do with the location of the base. But it has to be out of site per my wife.

If you have an alarm system with motion detection, don't program it to run when you are away and alarm is on.

My mom has a roomba that has been working for 2 years. She only has it upstairs on 1500 sq feet 2/3 hardwood 1/3 carpet. She keeps her place very clean and has a "cleaning lady" come every two weeks to do a real cleaning. The roomba works great for the in-between I guess. But she is always sweeping and picking things/lent off the floor. So, , who knows?

Bottom line: She likes it

Wife wanted a roomba for chistmas a couple of years ago and it does pretty good. Like was mentioned above you have to keep thinks picked up for it to work right but that isn't a huge deal for me. I just close the doors to the kids rooms becasue they are to lazy to pick up and they can live with dirty floors if they want.

Ours is the type that dumps itself into the base station. That is the only way to go in my opinion. I have learned on mine that the entire thing is built modualy. If a part goes bad the app will tell you which it is and the part number and i can order it online and replace it, pretty simple to keep going.

They work great. Definitely get the one that self dumps and don't let stuff like dryer sheets lay on the floor. It WILL find them. Occasionally mine will not work. You just remove the battery for a minute or so and it will reboot and werk fine
