I always thought AI, robots, etc were going to take away blue collar jobs (e.g. truck driver jobs), but it seems like AI has targeted white collar jobs.

UPS usually trims back its temp-holiday work force in January.
Paypal is just doing its annual global employee cost to revenue adjustments. There was also something about Paypal getting irritated with China about payment processing and that may also be part of it.

I imagine the Amazon delivery trucks are putting a dent in UPS and USPS's revenue.

FedEx seems to be delivering more and more of our pkgs. wife gets at least one a day and that’s a slow day. It is the contract FedEx people delivering mostly.

FedEx is cheaper than UPS since UPS had the union issue. I've had a lot of my distributors switch over to FedEx recently and they are all saying the same thing that right now FedEx is cheaper and about equally reliable to UPS.

Yep, no one will convince me otherwise that the union raises aren’t a driving factor.

When given the option, I’ll Pay more to get UPS every time. FEDEX SUCKS.

That’s right. I’ll support those union jobs too. I know that statement will ruffle a lot of feathers here. But UPS is far better than FedEx

UPS is better around here. They’ve flattened less driveway lights, are nicer, much more punctual and more reliable about hiding packages from view from the road when we don’t answer the door. Fed Ex usually leaves package in the middle of the walkway, if not middle of the driveway…and not just the heavy Chewy boxes (those I can understand, as most of our Fed Ex drivers are more petite women).

experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

Cool, two anti-gun companies having to tighten up like the rest of our country.

But until the UPS board of directors relieves Carol Tome of her duties they will continue to slip. She is not a customer oriented ceo. She wants the least amount of boxes possible. And that has been proven time and time again when she and her cronies tell customers they don’t need their volume. Her time needs to be over. She ruined Home Depot and I hope they relieve her before she totally implodes ups.
