Let me see how things go from here……This was just something we were talking about potentially doing while tracking the other day so nothing is set in stone yet…..It definitely wont be something I just run head first into on my own without a well laid out game plan….

I’ve been told not to let the fire linger in similar stand you mention. Roots being a big concern to pines not accustomed to being burned. I’m assuming fuel reduction is the primary goal while protecting the pins.

These pines have been burned several times so they’re acclimated so to speak.

Post Resurrection:
What kind of cost is involved in getting a certified burn manager to create and implement a burn plan on 40 acres (1/4mile on each side of a square.) to reduce the fuel load on the forest floor. It’s about 35% tall older pines on rolling hilltops and the rest is oaks. Has no sign of previous burns and to me a good amount of dead pine trees both fallen and standing. Borders westervelt land on two sides (W & S), 1 side (E) has a 4 wheeler trail bordering it and the North side is 1/3 road frontage and 2/3’s onto another property with no trail or firebreak between them. There are no structures it looks like non replanted regowth from 25-30 yrs ago.

Trying to create a sanctuary for me to feel unpressured upon.
