I’d have to sell something else to get it. Sellers remorse is too strong for that.

I mentioned I got the 308 pro hunter iii also, I don't know why steyr uses the name ph iii and ph ii interchangeably or if they even know what model it is. but seems like a solid shooter, defiantly at least 7.8 lbs, with burris 50mm it was 9 lbs. trigger seems to be super light pull. and was surprised to see steyr usa headquarters in bessemer al. next i'll see how it shoots. Never had a boutique gun but after getting burnt on a brand new ruger american I figure its the right price and time to try one of these boutique guns.

Everybody can always use another rifle. I'll be first to say Steyrs aren't the prettiest of lead slingers but them cloverleaf groups look real good. Never seen a Steyr that wouldn't group outstanding.

I’d have one if they weren’t so heavy, that is my only complaint about them.

The gun and scope I’m presently toting weighs less than just the styer Unscoped.

I know they have a good rep for accuracy; but that is an ugly rifle. IMO

My Steyr 30.06 I got when they were in Trussville is probably most accurate rifle I own. Mighty tempted when they had that .308 on PSA

Why the odd barrel thread pattern? Most rifles are standard 5/8x24, and light contour barrels can be 1/2x28. This one is 1/2x20. A thread conversion adapter for it looks to be $90, and adds length & weight.

Got one last week in .308, feels much lighter than my TC Pro Hunter. $745 after the transfer fee. Can’t beat that. 👍🏼

I did some investigating and the ones they were selling as the pro hunter 3 they changed the ad to say prohunter 2 but with the same model number, the ph3 is 6.6 lbs while the ph2 is 7. 6 lbs. not too big of a difference. but yeah steyr is clearing out the 2's to make way for lighter 3's. and it was probably a typo on the .308. let us know if you actually got a pro hunter iii and not a ii.

Yeah I’d have to look again but pretty sure I got the ii also. Maybe I’ll complain and see if they offer me anything. I did look up the 6.6lbs after I bought and switched from the steyr to my rem 700 mountain and thought to myself that steyr is a bit heavier. Now it’s all making sense. It’s not a big deal, it’s just a shooting house gun anyways.

appears to be the PH3.

https://steyr-arms.us/steyr-pro-hunter-iii/

and if you look at the full psa url it says iii even though the ad says ii

I bet it’s the ii just sayin. They’ve fixed the 308 ad now but kept the previous url so just updated the html. Bet the 7mm08 is the same just they fixed html before posting.
