Just got into welding as a hobby for projects around the house/farm and wondering where is the best place around Huntsville to get metal and welding supplies?

I appreciate the offer. I have full bottles and everything I need, really looking for the best places to get rods, wire, and metal etc when I run out.

I don't buy anything in Huntsville. I can tell you this though, some places won't refill your bottles. I know Airgas here won't. You might get what you need off Amazon, or an online welding store, cheaper than you can buy local. Keep your rods in a toasty warm, very dry place. Find an old junk dorm fridge, cut a hole in it and wire up a porcelain base for a light bulb. Those make good rod cabinets.

Now you need the right size bottle and just exchange them like grill bottles. You can’t own the larger commercial size. You just pay a rental fee each month. That’s how I ended up with an extra set. My dad owned a set of the commercial size from back when you could own them. Couldn’t get them filled. Only thing I could do was trade them out for the size you can own.

I usually get mine at Holston Gasses on Putman Dr.

AWG for gas. If you have bottle issues tractor supply will swap without any issue. Supplies online. Harbor freight has clamps and accessories that arent bad. Service Steel, Inc. for metal.

AWG fills my two CF340 bottles with no issue. It takes me 2-3 years to empty.

I appreciate all the recommendations. Found some places I didn't know existed I'll be checking out.
