Did she own the property where the bracelet was left ? Or was this a hotel or resort ? I would think that would make Big difference

Doesn't matter where it is. Lost property is lost property.

Well I can tell you that the “Finders keepers, losers weepers” defense didn’t work.

I heard he was examining the "newly" found binocs to see if there were any clues as to who owned them while he was fishing in a lake and they accidentally slipped out of his hands and sunk to the bottom....end of story thumbup

Sounds like you are stealing if you take a poachers treestand from your own property? That's pretty messed up.

Have to be a real piece of work as a prosecutor to bring those charges.

We found one sitting in a ground blind on us. He ran when he saw our guy coming and left behind his blind, chair, game cam, feeder, and a old cell phone that when we found it still had a porno playing on it hed been watching.
We gave it to game warden but it had no service and musta just been for his videos storage.

Have to be a real piece of work as a prosecutor to bring those charges.

First, the poacher would have to report it as stolen.

Well, if you wake up in the morning and there’s a strange vehicle parked in your drive and nobody is around, can you just start driving the vehicle and expect to not be charged?

Lots of laws are just plain common sense. The problem is that many either lack common sense or just don’t use it.

So you find a treestand on your property. The first thing you know is that it’s NOT YOUR STAND. Contact law enforcement and let them do their job. Don’t take the law into your own hands and create a problem for yourself.

I get it, folks get mad when they discover that someone has been trespassing on their property BUT this doesn’t give them the right to break the law themselves.

I’m a property owner, I’ve dealt with poachers and it’s not fun but it comes with owning property.

If a poacher parked on my land I would charge rent for using my land as a parking lot and expect payment before allowing them to reclaim.

About the most true statement ever on Aldeer.

I think about the best way to handle the tree stand left behind is to leave a note on the tree that if they want the stand back to contact the GW. Then let the GW know you have it. Since I imagine their evidence locker is not convenient to most GWs and stands are big and bulky, they will likely be fine with you holding it. I doubt the poacher is going to call to get it back.
