Problem is, it's tougher to even get in on a lease (club) now. It used to be that many clubs were begging for members each year and finding one was much easier than it is now. Obviously, like everything else, it has also gotten much more expensive than in years past.

I think there’s right and wrong in his rant. I know personally that although lease costs have increased the cost of everything else is what’s pricing people out. There’s just not as much play money as there used to be and folks are getting outbid by people who don’t really care how much it costs. But make no doubt, there’s a whole lot of leases and clubs that used to be attainable by regular folks that are now occupied by the Sitka wearing flat bill people who are hunting just for likes and shares

I believe it but people have been saying hunting is a rich man’s game since the 90’s.

It be's that way sometimes.

The fewer areas that have quality hunting…..the higher the price and demand for that quality. Hunters are our own worst enemy sometimes. If we’d stop blasting so many does then there would be more areas with better deer populations.

I Liked the Video, Guy made sense. And if you can’t Afford a Lease, there’s always Public Land. Or go as a Guest with a Friend a couple times a year. But don’t be a Flat Brimmer, that’s just Wrong.

One day CNC, your message is going to take root. Your message is going to start a trend. One day all the work on graphs, comments, arguments and everything else you put into this venture is going to make a difference. Keep it up man, people will come around. And when they do, it will be a no doe revolution!

Grandpa used to always say, "God quit making land a long time ago."

It's real simple. There are more people and less available land. Period. And for whatever ideals of "the way it should be" that people may hold, another fact of life is that if people can make a dollar, they will. The only reason lease prices were cheap in the 60s, 70s, etc. is because there was a higher supply and lower demand.

Doubt that…….the general public is fairly gullible and uneducated on the subject. It isnt too hard for folks to keep the waters muddied up. I’m not really trying to start any revolution though…..I’m just trying to inject the correct answer into the conversation. laugh

A little perspective on CNC’s logic. We have a small farm, 75 acres in Jackson County, about 45 in woods and rest hayfields. For years couple buddies and I hunted it and didn’t shoot doe’s unless wanted some meat and only shot 1-2 good bucks a year off it, depending on what was hanging around. Every time you’d go hunting would see bunch of doe’s, handful bucks and always had a good hunt. The land surrounding us nobody hunted. Then one year the landowner to our south started letting some guys hunt that was friends of his son. They blasted brown it’s down rules then couple years the land west of us gets leased and they have similar mentality. Now 5-6yrs in we rarely will see deer, occasional small bucks and nothing of note on camera. Gonna try some different tactics this year, planting warm season grasses in hayfields, big blue stem and such, gonna plant corn and iron clay peas, putting clover around field edges and food plots, 2 of them going half 30-06 clover. Then even less pressure next couple years and see what happens

This guys view on leasing has little to do with leasing in the Deep South. Just like the deer itself, land and land ownership down here is much different than the Midwest.

No way in hell I’m paying $1k to hunt 160 acres in Alabama with 4-5 other people. That guy doesn’t know his ass from a hole in the ground except in the mid west. I wouldn’t pay that with those members in Kentucky.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

Unfortunately, I agree. You’d be money ahead talking to your neighbors and seeing if y’all can get on the same page management wise.
