Found this Beat Kodiak Magnum in an antique mall that my wife drug me to today. It looks like it’s in pristine condition except for two small places in the limbs that I can’t tell if they’re cracks or scratches. What say the ALDeer recurve experts? If it’s good to go I’ll go back and get it tomorrow.

Those look like cracks to me. Personally, I wouldn't pay that much for that bow.

Definitely could have been attic stored and a ticking time bomb.

The answers I was looking for. Glad I double checked!

Ask them to string it up and let you pull it back or watch them pull it back. That may give you a better prospective on it's condition.

I'm certainly no expert on trad bows, but a 52" length seems a little on the short side... might be for a short draw length

It was designed to be one of the shortest amo. They are nice shooting little recurves. Great for ground blinds

I shoot a custom 52" bow, 52 pounds at 28". I draw 27 1/2. one of the most accurate hunting bows I've shot.

those cracks are stress cracks in the glass, usually no bad effect on the limb itself.

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Bingo..ida bought that bow if the price was right…bear’s super mag is still one of the shortest around at 48in…ben pearson made some short bows too..i forget who makes the shortest these days..i think shrew ustah make a 46in bow and there was a guy who was buddies with dan quillion who made a 42in bow with a 28in draw length and i think a 38in with like a 26in…i dont think they ever builtem out tho…i saw a video of one of those short bows shooting once…it looked like a harp at full draw🤠…now as far as speed goes..i think border builds some fast bows nd a tolke whip was fast…but a comany called black swan is buildin trad bows that will sling a carbon shaft 300fps…hunting setups that will pop in the 250’s so ive heard…boys thats screamin for a trad bow

This is a group I shot out of that exact bow, just a few days ago. Mine is a 50#, not a 55.

Don’t do it. Youll get hooked and never go back to the bows with training wheels.

They are fun to shoot. I’m shooting a long bow that was made by a local guy (can’t remember his name) and given to a good friend of mine and my dad’s. He handed it down to me a few years ago and I’ve decided I’m gonna smack one with it soon. Or try to. It seems a lot less forgiving than my recurve, but still fun. I’d imagine it’s a lot like golf. But with less beer drinking.
