Hi all, I'm not looking for spots or intel, but I'm going to give this WMA a shot this turkey season since it's on 25 mins from my house. I haven't been to this WMA and am curious what the protocol is for parking. It is a pull off the side of the dirt road type place or are there designated parking spots? I plan to get out there in Feb and scout/get familiar with the area but any insight would be beneficial. Thanks!

You can pull off wherever you want to and go hunt. Gates that are locked in February may be open once the season comes in. They are usually pretty good about keeping them open all season although I have seen the mining companies close a few before the season went out. Keep this in mind if coming out from behind a gate after 5pm. There is a slight chance you could get locked behind one by a worker.

Thanks for the info. I’ll probably start off the main roads and walk in from there. I’m sure it can get crowded on weekends during hunting season. I’ll likely try a weekday first and go from there!

Killed a gobbler there once on the Marvel side; consider a WMA bird one of my best trophies.

I hunted that land back in the late 80's/90's when U.S. Steel owned it. Killed several Gobblers there. Best hunting was along the River as the Timber hadn't been cut.

That place is so thick I don't see how a turkey could live there
