You can pull off wherever you want to and go hunt. Gates that are locked in February may be open once the season comes in. They are usually pretty good about keeping them open all season although I have seen the mining companies close a few before the season went out. Keep this in mind if coming out from behind a gate after 5pm. There is a slight chance you could get locked behind one by a worker.
