A few weeks ago I posted a prayer request for my dad who had a ruptured gallbladder due to stones and the loose stones that escaped went into his liver which turned out to be a life threatening issue. Well I'm glad to report that after two surgeries to fix that problem he is back on his feet and good to go. Thank you for sending a few up for him.
Now I have another request.
The day after Christmas he and my mom went to Gatlinburg for a few days. He hates to travel but she loves the mountains in East Tennessee so he loaded up and took her. On Thursday of last week she told him she was feeling bad and wanted to lie down. After being up and down all night with problems he decided to carry her to the emergency room. Apparently she was very sick and hid it because she was afraid he would cancel the trip. She wound up having pneumonia, a very severe UTI / dehydration issue which had become septic, and her heart was out of rhythm. They immediately admitted her into the Critical Care Unit and began pumping antibiotics into her over the next two days. I'm happy to report that as of Sunday she is no longer septic and her infection levels have gone down to nothing with all vital signs normal. The problem is that once they got all of that under control she seems to have lost cognitive function. She sees things that aren't there such as bobcats running around in her hospital room and people standing in the doorway starting at her when there is nobody there. Late Sunday afternoon she started fighting with the nursing staff and kept trying to pull off her IV's and monitoring devices. They put mittens on her to keep her from doing that and gave her a mild sedative and she went to sleep. It's now been two days since they gave her that sedative and she will not wake up. She's opened her eyes one time in two days and occasionally thrashes around like she's in pain but she never wakes up.
Please send one up for my mom............... What a month.

Well guys..... it's working. Just got a phone call and she's awake after being asleep for nearly 3 days. She not 100% lucid and keeps calling my sister "Banana" (her name is Amanda), but she's awake and showing a little improvement.
