Wife and I will be celebrating 25 years of marriage this summer and are considering a trip to Costa rica. Looking for some guidance from some of y’all that have been. Definitely planning to incorporate a couple days of fishing as this is on my bucket list. Planning to stay around 7 days and probably going to go the route of an all inclusive resort. Thanks

I went to Crocodile Bay about 10 yrs ago. Fantastic place. Costa Rica is in my top 2 of where I would move to tomorrow given the chance. Beautiful country and the people were nice as well.
While fishing along the cost I made the comment to the guy with me that if a T-Rex stepped out of the jungle onto the beach I would not be surprised. One of the wildest places I have ever seen.

if you're going to an all-inclusive then the country doesn't really matter all that much. Most all-inclusive resorts do a really good job of isolating you from the host country to the point where you hardly know what country you are in. We've been to a bunch and they are all basically the same experience. Similar to a cruise, but you're not on a boat.

That said, Costa Rica would be a neat place to do your own adventure vacation, where you rent a car, rent your own house, and go out everyday into the culture, buy groceries, hike, fish, explore, etc... We've done that type of vacation several times in different countries and have enjoyed the experience immensely.

It really depends on what kind of experience you're after.

I’ve been to Los Suenos many times. Feel free to pm me if you would like. Our summer is their rainy season and it will rain every day starting between 2-3pm. Fishing for billfish during that time is very tough. I have had some decent Mahi trips at that time. Prime time for fishing is now thru the 1st of May. Food is great and it’s a very safe place.

We went in February and the weather was perfect! The bill fishing was incredible.
Qepos at that time, was like Destin before people found out how nice it was.

Irish, gonna disagree with you, we have done all inclusive on Aruba and Costa Rico(Tamarindo). While understand what you’re saying we always did our own thing, we rented autos and went exploring. Don’t believe there was much ground we didn’t touch in Aruba. As far as Costa Rico we had a blast, offshore fishing, scuba diving
zip lining, hiking and we even tried surfing. Costa Rico is a fun place to visit
