I just bought an Ultrex to replace my Ulterra that crapped out. When I bought this boat, it had an Ultrex on it, but the shaft was too short. I liked the one that was on it, but couldn't stand listening to it gulp air, when the water was choppy. I honestly don't know anyone who has bought a new Motor Guide TM in a long, long time. There has to be a good reason for that. The Ultrex is nice, I have no complaints with the new one, with the longer shaft.
With MK releasing their new Quest recently, I'd imagine that you could buy a nice used Ultrex soon.

Four replies, and all four agree. That has to be an aldeer first!  I was thinking the same thing. I’m ordering the Ultrex. I found a few places that have really good pricing right now. Thanks for the advice!
