OK fellers what's a good everyday/walking athletic style shoe for Plantar Fasciitis ? I understand some HOKAs are good.

I feel for ya, I had that for about a year right before PA school 12yrs ago. I limped around the ER so long that one of the docs kept trying to get me to let him inject my foot. Way I finally fixed mine was took 2 weeks off before I started school and sat in the recliner playing Xbox and rolling my foot back and forth on frozen water bottle and took ibuprofen 800mg 3 times daily. I basically stayed off my feet the entire time and it resolved. Only shoes I wear now at work are Keen Arroyo 2 but I really don’t have a lot of problems anymore.
Finally deported myself from the peoples republik of Kaliforkistan.

I know you don’t want an injection. Those damn things hurt.

I wear Hokas now. If you can find a Fleet Feet or another similar type store, they will have you stand on a sensor and then walk across a different pad and it gathers info about your foot shape and how you walk which assists them in finding the best brand/style of shoe for your foot. Hokas and Brooks were the brands recommended and I tried both on and then chose the one felt best to me, but they also recommended inserts as well, which I have continued to buy. Those I just move from pair to pair as needed. I have more than one pair of Hokas (maybe it is a girl thing ). I have read, though, that is good to have two pair of the same brand/style so you can alternate and each pair can fully dry and air out between days worn. It supposedly helps them last longer (more than the fact that they are only warn half as much in the same time period).

If you go with a Hoka type shoe, then definitely go to a store to get fitted properly!

I know you don’t want an injection. Those damn things hurt. You ain’t kidding. I had one and refuse to ever let that happen again. What cured me was arch supports. I found the ones you get retail helped just as much as the expensive ones from the orthotics place.

New Balance with memory foam inserts they sell helped mine a ton.

Had a bad case of it years back that lasted many months. Bought several diff inserts - rolled foot om ball - etc - etc - none worked for me. Found one on informercial w a lot of arch - it worked. After using that a while it went away. Years later Played wiffle ball running bases and it flared back up bad. Used inserts again and it left quickly I can check what they were if interested - pm me. Foot dr i visited tried to sell me a special type shoe for $500 🤣🤣
