I lost a good one today. My pet rock "Stoner" passed away today. After 48 years together, he finally gave it up. Man, I'm sure going miss the times we had together, rolling down hills, holding papers down on my desk, and just sitting there enjoying each others company. Stoner was one of a kind, the kind of pet rock that only comes around once in a lifetime. I could tell him to play dead, and he would remain motionless literally for days or even weeks at a time. He never begged at the table, didn't make much noise, and didn't eat or drink much.
The only trouble I never had with him was the time he broke a window, but he seemed genuinely sorry because he kept to himself for a long time afterwards. He even helped me take on a couple of bullies in the Seventh grade without any regard for his own safety, never thinking of himself. Wife said I should just get another rock, but I don't think I'm ready to replace him just yet. Good bye buddy. I'm going to miss you.

Did he go out like a rockstar? Unfortunately the last few years had turned somewhat dark for him. He was involved in things I wasn't very happy about. Started back when he got that chip knocked loose. Anyway, he fell victim to a senseless game of rock paper scissors. It seemed that the paper had it in for him after he refused to break the scissors after scissors led a brutal attack on the paper a couple weeks ago. I lost half a pack of paper that day and Stoner was not feeling himself after an encounter with a sand blaster or I'm sure he would have avenged the situation.
