Tossing around the idea of buying a fiberglass stock for one of my Tikka rifles. Do these ever go on sale? I have had my Tikka's for awhile, some for probably 10+ years, and it is hard for me to justify spending 60% or more (depending on brand of stock) of the total purchase price of the gun for a new stock.

All my guns shoot great, Is there any real benefit to a fiberglass stock over the plastic Tikka provides? It just seems a lot of money to spend because I dislike the stocks Tikka uses.

Stockystocks.com just had a pretty good sale. Reasons folks buy replacement stocks; wanting a sturdier stock, a better fitting, shave some weight, and simply just wanting something different. These are just a few reasons.

83% of all statistics are made up.

I ran a Mesa Precision Altitude stock on a T3X and absolutely loved it. Wish I didn't sell that one lol

If I were changing the stock on a Tikka, I'd put it in an HS Precision

Looking at their website, they don't show Tikka as an option. They show remington, howa, savage, ruger, weatherby, winchester, marlin & cz. They do look like nice stocks though.

Stockys has a couple of carbon fiber options. Bell and Carlson offers several as well. Had a B&C stock on a Ruger American. It took a good bit of work to make it fit and get the magazine to drop free. Have a carbon fiber stockys brand on a howa and after some work, I'm satisfied with it. It's ultra light too. The B&C was never my favorite and was very clunky.

Yeah I was questioning that as I typed it.

Had a buddy (bucksvillefatboy) that swapped his. It may have been a Bell and Carlson now that I think about it.

Grayboe makes good stocks. They were running a 40% off sale last week, not sure about now.

I have a Terrain on a Rem 700 and really like it.

This as well. My Grayboe stock is one of my favorite and is incredibly light weight and rigid.

I would sell the Tikka and get a better rifle..... no way I would throw money at it. You'll have enough money in it after swapping the stock that you could have had a Weatherby or something much nicer.

No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

And it still wouldn't shoot as well as the Tikka.

False.

What I mean isn't the Tikka would outshoot the Weatherby. But the Weatherby won't outshoot a Tikka either. I've had piles of both and my experience is what it is. They are both accurate rifles.
