At what point during the hunt do you use them and how often?

I like to grunt just as the sun is peeking over the trees in the mornings, and then again as light is fading late in the afternoons. I've had this method work from bow season to the last day but be forewarned.... it doesn't work a lot.
I normally don't rattle a lot but when I start seeing the little guys looking for does before the real action begins I will rattle a little. Normally once per hour and almost exclusively in the morning and I never go full on buck fight. Usually light to mid sparring level. Again.... this won't work very often but when it does it's awesome.

David Leonard makes some of the best grunt calls you can get
His phone number is (706)249-3003. His email is/was David Leonard4585@yahoo.com. I don't have his address in my phone. While you're at it, get him to make you a tube call for the turkey woods.
David Leonard and Old Crow custom calls both sound great and are made by solid, stand up guys. I own one of each and have given them away for Christmas and birthday presents. You won't be disappointed in either.

He seems to be a great guy. I have never met him. I called him Sunday afternoon and we talked for a good hour. I had a lot of questions 😅 I was also looking at the turkey calls.
David is a personal friend of mine. I begged him about 5 years ago to make me a grunt call, cause he was always making other cool stuff out of wood. Rest is history. He ain't looked back since. He's taught me alot about hunting deer and turkeys. He's a heck of a woodsman
