The Nazi administration now wants to put a speed controller on vehicles that will make it so you cannot go over the speed limit, anywhere, at anytime, for any reason. 56 in a 55...not going to happen..51 is now your maximum speed Mister Freedom. Got an emergency? You will have to fill forms 90-B thru 97-J in order to go faster. https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/rcna126053

I actually THINK I like the idea for habitual speeders if there was some way to lock them down it would be great. Get a ticket or two, get throttled down for a while. Driving is a privelage not a right. Our handlers would screw up it's application though I'm sure.

Just wait til someone goes to pass grandma or that non-working, EBT card holding, govt tit sucking leech, that is never in a hurry to get anywhere because they have exactly zero obligations. They'll be driving 40 in a 55 and when you go to pass, your speed governor kicks in and you lose acceleration while passing and get hit head on by on-coming traffic. Yep, nothing could ever go wrong in that scenario. I'm sure the Biden admin will think its a great idea and implement it through executive order right after the first of the year.

"No one needs a gun!"
"No one needs more than one gun!"
"No needs more than one buck a year!"
"No one needs a giant house when a smaller one will do. Who needs all that space and yard? More affordable housing could be provided."
"No one needs a truck that big that drinks all that gas! Who needs a big, fast car or SUV when something like the Mini Cooper or smaller EV models will work, like in Europe?"
When the "No one needs ..." crapola gets started it's a slippery slope. Doesn't matter which topic.
Well, who needs to go faster than the speed limit? That seems logical, right? Common sense driving laws. No one needs to go faster than the speed limit unless it's law enforcement, fire, rescue or paramedics. Everyone else should do the speed limits and that's it. This will lower the number of vehicle injuries and deaths, help save Mother Earth and by golly it just makes good sense.
Because "no one needs to do that."
Next time someone says "No one needs more than ..." something, think about it before agreeing. That's some straight-up socialist horsecrap that goes right in line with "For the good of everyone" claptrap.

I'm sure the Biden admin will think its a great idea and implement it through executive order right after the first of the year. With automobile regulations like safety features and such, they do not need an executive order or any kind of congressional or presidential approval. They can just put it into the code and if the President chooses he can order NTSB to cancel it or keep it. Trump cancelled a lot of regulations from day one which the economy and the good side of humanity really enjoyed, but Biden ordered the various agencies to rescind those orders when he got into office.

How much revenue is generated at the city/county/state level from speeding tickets? I'd bet it's not insignificant. How much money do insurance companies make from raising rates following a speeding ticket? Also, probably not insignificant. Make it impossible for a car to exceed the speed limit and it seems like you'd be hitting a LOT of people in the pocketbooks. I don't see it happening for that reason, if nothing else....

I am going to have to side with Clem on this one.....
There is a HUGE jump from a "speed limit" to actually allowing the Gubberment to control your speed or just turn it off.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

I have news for you. If they can send a Fema alert to all cellphones, they can track your speed with your phone as well.

Why not put a breathalyzer on every vehicle to stop alcohol related vehicle deaths? Follow the money. Already implemented in most Chinese provinces. The people though figured out you can get a sober person to blow up a balloon for you so you can get your car started. Some folks hang out around bars in China selling balloons.

My mom's car has that lane assist thing on it that will redirect the car if you drift a little bit and I HATE it.
If I want to swerve to avoid whatever in the road of my choosing, then by dandy that is what I expect to be able to do. I am not a reckless driver, although my foot used to have more lead in it that is has of late, but I want the most control over my vehicle as possible. I absolutely do not want to have to battle with some computer that thinks it is smarter than me when it doesn't know the immediate actual environment.
