That is the same Walmart that I swung into to pick up some potting soil for my mother. When I got into the garden shop area I smelled really strong weed. Around one of the aisles at the back were two employees burning a big one. I just walked right between them and grabbed a couple sacks of dirt and got the heck out of there.

I never felt scared or the need to carry until the last year. I work in pike rd so I drive through Montgomery twice a day. I’m not worried but I carry now because I trust less.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

I have never understood this scenario. Store or theater in one area gets run down and/or unkempt and instead of thinking, "Oh, we should clean this place up and/or update it." Folks will just go destroy a newer location. I am guilty of shopping at the places that look to be the best maintained, but there is a segment of society who seems to be let out in public with zero home training and it is just a matter of time before the new place is a wreck as well.

We stopped at the Chevron on Eastern Blvd on the way back from Hurtsboro Saturday mid-morning and the weed smell was strong in the parking lot. Of course, it seems like I'm smelling it almost everywhere now.
Used to be a lifeguard, until that blue kid got me fired.

Yes, that Walmart quickly went down hill ... surprisingly I've had bad experiences at both Publix stores off Taylor Rd ... I'll stick to my small town and try to avoid Montgomery except for working on base. That is why I think its a good idea to be moving out of Pike Road right now while the homes still have decent value. I grew up in Montgomery and the things that make Montgomery bad have spread rapidly and seem to be spreading faster than they ever have. I went in that Chantilly Walmart not long after it opened and it was not bad. One year later it was getting rough, then a year later was the weed thing and daily crime reports about car break-ins, random stabbings and shootings. It only took a couple years for it to go to crap. I predict that Walmart will be sold down soon to become something like a mega Thrift store or just another empty big box store in Montgomery to go with the rest of them. Its like its the accepted business model for Montgomery. Go to the east side, build something nice, make as much money as possible as fast as possible before you start losing money to crime. Sell the nice business building cheap so you can run away fast. The new building then becomes some kind of business that caters to something decent people do not like. ...and then more of Montgomery comes in around it.

Can't go much further east! That is the big problem. Macon County aint exactly the best county to do any kind of upscale business in.
